Abstract

The rapid development of digital technology requires companies to continuously innovate and improve efficiency, accuracy, and speed in data management. PT Sumber Alfaria Trijaya Tegal, as one of the large retail companies, faces challenges in managing digital documents, especially in the tax division which must process hundreds of PDF files every day. Manual data processing not only hinders workflow but also carries a high risk of human error and reporting delays. The solution to address these problems was the development of the SIMBA application, a desktop application based on the Electron framework and designed using Visual Studio Code with the HTML, CSS, and JavaScript programming languages. The development method used was Research and Development (R&D), which includes the stages of needs analysis, system design, feature implementation, testing, and product refinement. The SIMBA application has nine main features, namely open PDF, split PDF, merge PDF, create annotation marks, OCR, convert, check financial data, and export results. Testing results with Blackbox testing showed that all features run optimally and meet user needs. The implementation of SIMBA has succeeded in increasing work efficiency, accelerating the document management process, and reducing employee workload significantly. Furthermore, the application's simple, informative, and responsive interface design makes it easy for users from various technological backgrounds to use. The SIMBA application can be used by even those unfamiliar with technology. Based on product trials, the SIMBA application has proven to be an effective solution for digital innovation in PDF data management, particularly in the retail sector. SIMBA is expected to be further developed and adapted to support digitalization processes in other sectors.
