Abstract

The development of electric vehicle technology has become a strategic solution to reducing dependence on fossil fuels and addressing exhaust gas emission issues. This study aims to design and build a 60-Volt electric vehicle chassis with consideration of structural strength, weight efficiency, and the ability to withstand loads and impacts. The chassis design adopts an engineering approach using CAD (Computer-Aided Design) with 2D and 3D modeling through software such as SolidWorks. The type of chassis developed adopts a space frame structure, taking into account the weight distribution of the battery, electric motor, as well as user comfort and safety. The design process includes the stages of needs analysis, sketching, digital modeling, and fabrication. The results of the design and construction show that the chassis design is capable of optimally supporting the vehicle and passenger loads and has sufficient structural strength to resist external forces. The conclusion of this study indicates that the 60-Volt electric vehicle chassis design meets safety criteria and can serve as a foundation for the future development of lightweight electric vehicles.
